VARIETIES OF CABLES USED TO DEVELOP WIRED TECHNOLOGY

From the ancient period to present day, wired technology has more benefits in providing its service of accessing internet without any disturbances from other signals. Because of its high speed transmission of information and reliability service, the wired technology has becoming more familiar for internet connection. There are several types of cables are used in the wired technology for easy and high speed transfer. Let have a look about the types of cables. The first and foremost cable used in wired is twisted pair cable. It is made of copper cables which are twisted together to form a pairs.

The ordinary telephone connections, Ethernet cables are made of this twisted pair cables but the count used will vary. For telephone cables, two pairs are used and in Ethernet, four cables are used in order to transfer both voice and data. These insulated copper wires avoid cross-talks and other electromagnetic radiations. It is of two types as shielded and unshielded and is used in various scenarios. Next, coaxial cables are introduced which is made of copper/aluminium wires with insulating layer. This insulating layer avoids interference occurrence during transmission. The speed of transmission is more as compared with twisted-pair cables. These cables are used in homes, offices and in local areas for connection.

Telephone connectionNext advancement in cables produces optical fiber cable for transmission. This uses light pulses for transmission. It has more advantages as compared with other cables such as low loss in transmission, provides insulation from electromagnetic emission and has fast transmission rate up to trillion of bits per second. Everyone can use various color of light pulses in order to increase the transmission speed. As more advantages are seen, nowadays optical fibers are used in wired technology for fast transmission.

The wired internet service is reliable. Because, these are never interfered by other microwave signals which is occurred in wireless. Hence, wireless in unreliable. The cost of maintenance for wired is low and hence it has more life time. The speed of the internet access is high. Because, once it is connected, there is no signal interference problem to interrupt which is facing probably in wireless technology. The quality of service (QoS) is more efficient in wired technology. As the transmission process is continuous without any distractions, wired has high efficient QoS service. Hence, due to reliability and less cost, wired technology is effective for internet access.
